GROOVES

Welcome to my page entitled "Grooves". Here I am going to attempt to suggest ideas and offer some of my own technical discoveries that I have come across over the years as a professional player...sort of like drum lessons, online...although I prefer not to refer to them as lessons but rather call them "Diddys". The word "Lessons" seem a little to formal for this idiom.

In order to keep things interesting and challenging for both you and I, I have decided, for better or worse, to start a few steps up the latter. I am going to assume that most of you reading this page are somewhat familiar with the drums and have gone through some of the very basics as far as theory and technique. Hopefully, for my sake, you already have a basic understanding of what the different note values are and have gone through finding a comfortable way to hold the drumsticks.....matched or traditional grip. Assuming that you have already studied musical notation, I am going to incorporate examples in the diddys (lessons) which you may print for practice purposes.

In order to file the diddys in an easily accessible place, I will list them on this page as links. Please don't assume them to be in any chronological order. We drummers all know that there is a method to this madness but I will be adding to them fairly loosely and do not intend them to be followed in any strict order. Feel free to go back and review at any time and to refresh yourself with any of the previous diddys. Also feel free to e-mail me with any questions pertaining to my ideas or experiences. As time permits, I will respond. Please be patient...my schedule is a bit hectic however, I will be in touch. Thanks and HAPPY PRACTICING!
